by Eduardo RivadaviaKragens was formed in the city of Nice, France, in the year 2000, by guitarists Ludwig Laperche and Cedric Sellier, and subsequently rounded out by bassist Denis Malek, drummer Olivier Gavelle, and veteran vocalist Renaud Espeche -- formerly of '80s cult band Demon Eyes. After formulating their modern mix of thrash, power, and death metal (with pinches of black metal) on a 2001 demo, Kragens released their debut album, Dying in a Desert, in 2004, the sophomore Seeds of Pain in 2005, and follow-up, Infight (which saw Laperche replaced by new guitarist Gilles Giachino) in 2007.
