by Drago BonacichFormed in the California Bay Area by ex-Stellamara multi-instrumentalist Jeffrey Stott, acid jazz musician Michael Emenau, and Kazakhstan-born singer Irina Mikhailova, Lumin emerged in the late '90s with a fusion of ethnic rhythms from Middle Eastern, medieval European, classical, and modern ambient music. Their spiritual and intimate style debuted in 1998 with the release of Datura. Hadra followed in 2002.
