Anaís Martínez was rocketed to fame following her victory on Univision's reality TV competition show Objectivo Fama. While many former contestants sparkle and fade, Martínez has enjoyed a lasting industry presence since the launch of her career on the show's second season. Born June 22nd, 1984 in the Dominican Republic, Martínez relocated the Bronx at a young age. She showed musical promise early on, gaining valuable performance experience singing at community events. Working as a music teacher, Martínez directed a school chorus that performed regionally called Los Cumbiancheros. The ensemble tackled repertoire representing a wide stylistic variety, foreshadowing Martínez recording career that would come be characterized by her versatility. In 2005 Anaís distinguished herself amongst her fellow competitors on Objetivo Fama with her striking appearance and commanding performances. Her debut record followed shortly thereafter, released in April of 2006. Entitled Asi Soy Yo, the record peaked at number 79 on Billboard's Hot 100. The "Asi Soy Yo Tour" was launched in September of that year, selling out auditoriums throughout Puerto Rico. The record also garnered the Anaís a host of award nominations, including the Latin Grammy's "Best Pop Album" and Lo Nuestro's "Best New Artist." The song "Arriba, Arriba" was released as Univision's Fifa World Cup Soccer anthem for '06 featuring Anaís performing alongside artists Ana Bárbara, Pablo Montero and Marian Seoane. The single brought Anaís widespread fame, announcing her as a rising star in Latino music. Con Todo mi Corazón was released in January of 2007, climbing the charts with the hit single "Tu Amor noes Garantía." The album placed at number 20 on Billboard's Latin Pop charts.
