by Diana PottsHeimir Bjorgulfsson combines natural sounds from his native Iceland with electronic elements for his minimalist techno sound. Born in Iceland and stationed in Amsterdam, Bjorgulfsson's first album was The Opposite. The album was based on digitally remastered recordings of natural sounds from Iceland such as glaciers and geysers. For his second album, Discreet Journey Digitalis, the Icelander used all digitally generated and manipulated recordings.
