Founded in the early 90s, this US group has become very popular on the world music scene. The ensemble was formed by Taumbú (b. Hal Noble Ector, 1944, Los Angeles, California, USA). Although his performing career is central, Taumbú has also produced his own recorded material and he teaches and makes instruments, notably bambu flutes and chekeres. In addition to leading this ensemble, Taumbú has recorded with various artists, including Phil Ranelin, Horace Tapscott and Randy Tico. He is also a skilful artist, selling his paintings through his organization’s website.
