Meet the singer songwriter Brieg Guerveno,. Reflected in the music of this Breton language folk singer, are the diverse influences of his musical world : from the folk rock scene of the 70s, to echoes of the heavy metal scene.
His lyrics, written in his native Breton tongue, are as distinct as the music : steeped in a sombre, dark quality, and the need to speak out against all that is wrong with the modern world.
His voice, full of honesty , opens up his musical universe to us. It’s a world in progression, progressive rock in the form of Breton folk !
Brieg began his solo career in 2006, releasing his folk EP entitiled « SEDER », which received critical acclaim from such acclaimed artists on the Breton music scene as Alan Stivell and Dom Duff..
On tour with his group, he has been heard and appreciated by many on the festival circuit : in Brest 2008 festival, the pan Celtic festival in Ireland, Dazibao festival, festival in Galicia, the Filets Bleus festival in Concarneau, the sea shanty festival etc ….
In 2011, he released his debut album, « Nozioù deiou », which was distrbuted by Coop Breizh.
In 2012, he was joined by two well-known musicians on the Breton rock scene, the bassist Xavier Soulabail, and the drummer Joachim Blanchet. The Brieg Guerveno trio represents a revolution in Breton music, all too evident on the first EP « Bleunioù an distruj ».
