艺人介绍

Dawn Fung是个真正体味、创造、享受生活的一个女人:不定期更新博客,心血来潮弄一张唱片(已售完,不再版),偶尔给家人唱歌,偶尔中的偶尔来一次小型演出,以有爱的教师为职业,如今也终为人母。

Dawn Fung is a folk singer-songwriter.

Her music employs biblical and folk imagery to produce docu-narrative visions of conflict, faith and glory. Fans of Dawn Fung are attracted to her brand of storytelling, intimate connection and cosy gigs. She especially loves singing for children, the weary souls and listeners who enjoy that rustic, slower life. Dawn Fung is influenced by 60s folk revivalists like Anne Briggs, Bob Dylan and Pete Seeger, as well as current folk singer Kate Rusby.

Dawn Fung has released two albums to good reviews. The Last Morning (2009) and In the Evening Sun (2013) revolve around her deep interest in stories of faith, family and time. Dawn Fung usually works with Ian Wong on guitar, Jeffery Foo on piano, and Chen Jer Ming on winds and things. Other collaborators include Ng Jie Jie on violin and Shernise Khor on cello. The albums were recorded, mixed and mastered at Beep Studios. Dawn Fung is currently working on her third album.

Besides writing songs, Dawn Fung is a teacher at City College, founder of The Group and Baby Warehouse. She graduated from the University of Kent in Drama, English and American Postcolonial Literature in 2002.

Dawn Fung was born in 1980, lives and works in Singapore. She is managed by Umami Records.
