来自美国的年轻民谣组合，一男一女，简简单单却很受用的搭配，当然专辑制作也离不开朋友相助。贝斯和鼓手就是朋友临阵客串。Josh Joplin和Garrison Starr来自两个不同城市，由于年少时同签在一个小厂牌下，自然而然结下深厚友谊，对于音乐的共识使得他们成为一对顺势拍档。
Shady Grove听着异常熟悉，除了熟悉还是熟悉，翻下才确定去年发过的Mudcrutch和Crooked Still都有翻唱过。有兴趣的听听炫音论坛发过的男版 再google学习下，才知道原来是美国18世纪流传挺广的一支民谣，又兰草又凯尔特味的，怪不得有不下100位歌手翻唱过它。

Among the Oak & Ash are a duo consisting of the established singer/songwriters Josh Joplin and Garrison Starr. Joplin, based in New York, and Starr, in Nashville, met while on the road performing their solo music. At Joplin's suggestion, they got together to record an album of traditional folk music. The eponymous album was completed in six days, without any label affiliation having been set. Verve Forecast then stepped in to pick it up, and Among the Oak & Ash was released on June 16, 2009, while the duo was embarked on a spring tour to promote it.
