Crest of Darkness是一支挪威的工业黑金属乐队，原始的气息从他们音乐中每一个音符中渗透出来，即便这样也并不缺乏技术性。
Ingars在九十年代中期，也就是他的前乐队Conception 仍处于巅峰期的时候就有了成立Crest Of Darkness这个新想法。跟Conception 完全相反的是，Crest Of Darkness毫无疑问是Ingars对于纯粹的野蛮残暴的声音的激情和对于撒旦意识崇拜的献礼。 另外，Crest Of Darkness 的歌词内容也很明显的反映出了Ingars对吸血鬼狂热的崇拜和热爱

While simultaneously making a name for himself in Norwegian progressive metal band Conception, bassist/guitarist/vocalist Ingar Amlien started a black metal side project called Crest of Darkness with keyboardist Lars Christian Narum and drummer Nils H. Maehlum. The trio released 1996's Quench My Thirst EP and 1997's Sinister Scenario LP in quick succession. For their third effort (and first since Conception's breakup), 1999's The Ogress, Crest of Darkness expanded to a quintet that also featured vocalist Kristin Fjellseth, keyboardist Jan Petter Ringvold, and former Conception drummer Arve Heimdal. More changes were in store for 2000's aptly named Project Regeneration, including the arrival of new guitarist Akke and the band's first live dates. After a protracted silence, CoD were back to a trio (Amlien, Akke, and drummer Kjetil Hektoen) for 2004's Evil Knows Evil.
