原来是高中老师，突然间就成为一个福音歌手(burst onto the gospel scene)，媒体如此形容Sara Groves。在美国是属于SONY旗下的EPIC发行，看起来是很有商业潜力的可能，否则商业公司怎会有兴趣。不过，歌词方面却也蛮清楚地让一般消费者认知到这是如假包换的“福音歌”。像第一主打歌Painting Pictures of Egypt，很清楚地是来自旧约圣经“出埃及记”；与专辑同名的歌Conversations是与上帝的随性谈话、The Word是上帝的话、甚至有Hello Lord这样的歌，“喂，主阿，你最近在干嘛”…还有…自己跟上帝的关系的反省：How It Is Between Us、追寻真理的过程：This Journey Is My Own、疑惑的歌：What Do I Know、信心的歌：Know My Heart、平安的歌：Going Home、也不忘赞美上帝的歌：He’s Always Been Faithful…
Sara Groves的音乐是比较不属一般电视流行歌主流，比较原音乐器的，比较民谣的，比较“乐评家喜欢”那一种，难怪，在2001年终时，许多基督教媒体的“critic’s choice”当常看到Sara Groves的名字。
Sara Groves, a former high school teacher in her native Rosemont, MN, burst onto the gospel scene at the dawn of the new millennium with her fresh vocals and spiritual songwriting. She's been compared to the likes of Shawn Colvin and Rich Mullins, however, Groves defines her own musical demeanor. She cannot be limited to one exact label, for her contemporary Christian hooks also mold into delicate pop. Signed to Epic, Groves issued her debut, Conversations, in early 2001.
