Baroque pop crooner Pierre Lapointe was born in Lac St. Jean, Quebec, in 1981. A kind of spiritual heir to the music immortal French composer Serge Gainsbourg, his elegantly debauched self-titled debut LP also earned comparison to Rufus Wainwright upon its mid-2004 release. Lapointe's follow-up, La Forêt des Mal-aimés, was released in the spring of 2006.
