by Jason AnkenyProvidence, RI progressive metal band Digital Ruin was founded in 1988 by drummer Timothy Hart and bassist Michael Keegan; with the subsequent addition of guitarist Joe Sawyer, the trio began recording its first demos and playing gigs throughout the New England region. Second guitarist Dave Souza signed on in mid-1991, and with the recruitment of vocalist Matthew Pacheco, the Digital Ruin roster was complete; the band's long-in-the-works debut Listen finally appeared in late 1997, shortly after Saywer's exit from the lineup. The remaining foursome issued the follow-up Dwelling in the Out in 1999.
