by Andrew HamiltonBased in Waterbury, CT, the carefully picked members of Sudden Impact are Octavio Deleon, Ira Wilkes, George Leary, Harold Bush, and Edward Cauthen. The members are still paying their musical dues. Deleon was with After The Storm, and The Johnny Wilder Band from 1969 to 1972 (in Germany) which became Heatwave, he also did a stint with Bill Baker's Five Satins. Wilkes worked with Bloodstone; Leary sang with Topaz, and with Wilbert Hart's Delfonics; Bush sang with the Gondoleres, and Cauthen was with the Melofunk, Inc., and the Directions. The mellow, soulful group has released Pure Passion on Golden Embrace Records, a buttery collection that's perfect for red-light specials with your boo. The CD mixes Ol Skool slow jams with original contributions that are just as mellow.
