Seattle-based multi-instrumentalist Jason Holstrom is a member of the United State of Electronica, a producer, remixer, and solo artist. Holstrom played with bands such as the College Idea and the Lincolns in the late '90s, and projects such as Wonderful and Dolour in the early 2000s. He moved into production and mixing in 2003 with Ryan T. Rockers, Esquire's Monkey vs. Robot; his other credits include Aqueduct's I Sold Gold. As a member of U.S.E., he remixed Of Montreal's "Requiem for O.M.M.2" in 2006. Holstrom's debut album of island pop The Thieves of Kailua, was inspired by a trip to Hawaii and his skills on the ukulele; written, performed, and recorded entirely by Holstrom, it took three years to complete and was released in 2007 by Mill Pond.
