TRIBES OF NEUROT are an experimental noise and drone band from the USA. First starting out as a side project from NEUROSIS, the band slowly progressed into more unique terms, with their first releases being parts of NEUROSIS albums. Their sound is based upon experimental noise, drone, ambient noise, looping and increasing speed. The current line up is a quite random ensemble, with members of MASTODON, SHRINEBUILDER, ASVA, PORN & BLOOD & TIME.

Mainly making split eps and short length eps, the bands albums also have a lot more contemporary material, e.g. their last album ?Meridian?. For 3 years, they released 12 eps consecutively, basing them on the solstices and equinoxes of the modern Calendar. Most of their material is untitled, and their live albums also contain many improvised moments.

This band takes progressive music into more experimental areas, with the use of looping, speeding, and making programmatic music through the use of ambient noise and audio trickery (e.g. ? Adaptaion & Survival: The Insect Project.?)
