The extreme metal band called Marasmus was formed in early 2007 in Kansas City, Missouri. From the very beginning Marasmus had a buzz in local music scene. The members that started the project were from other local acts that were well known in the area and had a reputation for being driven individuals. Within a year Marasmus had played with several national acts. Quickly starting to gain a real following, Marasmus was headlining their own shows in no time. They released their first EP “Diseased” and knew they had to raise the bar in order to be able compete in a city known for having a vicious stock of metal bands. After a few early lineup changes Marasmus began to write and rehearse mercilessly several times a week. Working on their craft, they formulated an album made of all new songs and hired friend and musician Adam Mitchell to record the first full length “Mountains of Dead” released in 2012. After countless great reviews and playing countless venues for the next 2 years the band went back to the studio to start working on the latest recording just titled “ EP”. It was released locally in Nov of 2014 and the full album will be formally released in 2015. Right now the band is excited about playing the 1st Kansas City BlackDeath festival at the Riot Room on April 17th & 18th. They are also scheduled to appear at the Foothills Gutfest in Colorado Springs, CO on June 19th & 20th. New music is coming soon!
