by Chris TrueBridging the gap between two distinct eras of American and English popular music -- the soul and country of the Fifties and Sixties and the snotty, rebellious sounds of punk rock circa the Seventies -- New York's (Brooklyn, to be exact) the Coydogs were a trio (Darian Zahedi -- guitar and vocals, Nick Storella -- bass and vocals, Joey Valentine -- drums) that earned a name for themselves through a number of well received local shows. Soon, their particular brand of alt-country/punk-ish rock took flight, and the band released their debut album, The Coydogs, to a warm reception in 2008.
