by Heather PharesThe side project of the Blood Brothers' Johnny Whitney and Mark Gajadhar, Neon Blonde features a similarly formidable, serrated attack as the duo's main band, albeit with a more eclectic, electronic-tinged twist. After writing and recording for more than a year, the duo issued the Headlines EP in summer 2005; that fall, the full-length debut Chandeliers in the Savannah -- which added saxophonist Joel Culpin -- arrived, bringing with it an even more freewheeling take on Neon Blonde's sound.
