The Sacramento, CA, hardcore metal quartet Will Haven originally formed in the mid-'90s with the trio of vocalist Grady Avenell, guitarist Jeff Irwin, and bassist Mike Martin being the group's mainstays (several drummers have done time with the band -- Wayne Morse, Dave Hulse, and most recently, Mitch Wheeler). A self-titled, seven-track EP followed in 1996, and a year later, the quartet was signed to the Revelation label, resulting in the full-length releases El Diablo (1997), WHVN (1999), and Carpe Diem (2001), as the group has toured with such renowned acts as the Beastie Boys, Deftones, Limp Bizkit, Vision of Disorder, and Soulfly.
