A tart, sweet indie pop trio hailing from New York City, the Besties formed in the early 2000s with Marisa, Kelly, and Rikky. All three members hail from Florida; Marisa and Kelly, both natives of Anna Maria Island, were childhood friends. The two girls eventually went to college in Tallahassee, where they met Rikky. All three moved to New York after graduation, and the Besties were born. Their debut mini-album, Singer, was released on Skipping Stones in 2006.
