by Andy KellmanThree affiliates of the Bugz in the Attic extended family — Orin Walters (Afronaught), Kaidi Tatham (Agent K), and Alex Phountzi — formed broken beats first power trio in the late 90s. They also released one of the scenes first full-length albums with 1999s The Future Aint the Same as It Used 2 B, but before that, they were releasing singles sporadically on the Laws of Motion label (Theme From Firefly, the trios debut, was issued back in 1997). Like most of their West London peers, Neon Phusions productions are post-drumnbass blends of jazz-funk, contemporary R&B, Afro-beat, and jazzy house. Outside of Neon Phusion, Walters, Tatham, and Phountzi have been prolific with several other collaborations and solo projects.
