by Johnny LoftusRick Vincent was born in San Bernadino, CA, but raised in the honky tonk hotbed of Bakersfield. It was here that he honed the blend of thoughtful lyricism, soulful vocals, and shuffling, beery country-rock that he debuted with 1993s A Wanted Man (Capitol). Unfortunately, despite some chart success with the line-dance favorite Hello, She Lied, Vincents burgeoning career as a trad country troubadour went nowhere fast. Undeterred, he stepped off-stage and focused on songwriting. Two years later, Lonestar charted with Heartbroke Everyday, co-written by Vincent with Bill LaBounty and Cam King.
