by John BushThe Dave & Deke Combo, a band of Los Angeles country rockabillies, consist of three Midwest transplants — leaders Dave Dickerson and Deke Stuckey, plus drummer Lance — and only one West Coast native, bassist Shorty. After releasing several 7 singles and an EP, the groups album debut, Moonshine Melodies, appeared in 1993 on the British label No Hit Records. After moving to Heyday in 1995, the Dave & Deke Combo released Hollywood Barn Dance the following year.
