by John BushFormed in the late 60s in Ontario by saxophonist Steve Kennedy, guitarist Ken Marco, keyboard player William Smitty Smith, and drummer Wayne Stone, Motherlode scored with a Top 40 hit in 1969 — the smooth When I Die. Two years after the release of the album of the same title, though, the group had broken up.
