The Cardigans成立于1992年10月，由五人组成，乐队成员当时都还不到20岁。在此专辑以前，The Cardigans发行过《Emmerdale》（1994年）和《Life》（1995年），但是除在日本影响颇大，并未引起瑞典以外的注意。是金子总要闪光，《First Band On The Moon》使The Cardigans获得了世界声誉。瑞典是个高福利国家，The Cardigans充分表达出这一影响。整张专辑是过着富余生活的年轻人的玩笑、休闲、恋情和胡思乱想。你听那松松垮垮的节奏，缠缠绵绵的曲调，Nina Persson懒洋洋的演唱，靡靡乎使人如坠五里云雾。音乐是煞费苦心地用音效、各种打击乐器和多变的演奏手法精心点缀的，花哨但不俗气，令人感到那是有闲阶级的雅趣。说得直白点，这是一种带有jazz和pop影响的独特的风格，它将The Cardigans与其它任何乐队区分开来，以致不明真相的听者或许会奇怪如此乐队从何而来，这倒正合The Cardigans心意──月球上的第一支乐队。这是The Cardigans的独特魅力。The Cardigans的音乐是非常大胆的，有些地方的音乐处理对别的乐队会不尽情理，而偏偏于The Cardigans处却十分合适。

The Cardigans are a Swedish rock band formed in Jönköping, Sweden, in 1992,by guitarist Peter Svensson, bassist Magnus Sveningsson, drummer Bengt Lagerberg, keyboardist Lars-Olof Johansson and lead singer Nina Persson, with the line-up remaining unchanged to this day.
Their debut album ‘Emmerdale’ (1994) gave them a solid base in their home country and enjoyed some success abroad, especially in Japan. It was not until their second album ‘Life’ (1995) that an international reputation was secured. Their popularity rose when their single "Lovefool", from the album ‘First Band on the Moon’ (1996), was included in the soundtrack to the 1996 film version of ‘Romeo + Juliet’.Other singles included "Erase/Rewind" and "My Favourite Game" from the album ‘Gran Turismo’ (1998). After a two-year hiatus the band returned recording and releasing their fifth album ‘Long Gone Before Daylight’ (2003) a mellower country-laden record. Their last album ‘Super Extra Gravity’ (2005), a continuation of the country music infused by pop sensibility and further maturing in the band's sound, was the best-selling Swedish album of that year.After a 2006 tour, the band embarked on a long five-year break from musical activities, before reuniting in 2012 to play several concerts. Overall the band sold over 15 million albums worldwide.
Member Persson released the album ‘Animal Heart ‘under her own name in 2014.
The band performed live show in November 2015 in San Diego.

- @dieshad：可以感到，The Cardigans不是在唱歌，不是在弹吉他，不是在敲鼓，是整个乐团一起在呈现一个好的音乐。人声乐器是一个整体，没有割裂感，你可以说他们没有什么突出的地方，我却想说他们每一个部分都超赞,有时和声会跳出来给你一个惊喜，有时吉他又有一段很棒的演绎，是一个没有短板的强大乐团。 制作这张精选集的时候惊讶的发现自己老了，一直以为自己最喜欢摇滚的，之前制作的aerosmith的精选集才二十几首歌，怎么在The Cardigans这个流行乐队的精选里竟然保留了30多首歌呢，难道我的心变的柔软了，已经听不了激烈的了吗？在不服老的情绪下又花了几天进行大清洗，终于又删掉几首好听但是不能算超赞的，终于控制在了23首歌，再也不能删了，欢迎来我的精选集听，保证每一首都好听。 进入我的精选集的条件很苛刻，我的原则是只有实在舍不得删掉的才留下来，我不是为了赚积分，很多人的精选里有很多首歌，我的精选里基本都很少歌的，可以算是精选中的精选，只给知音。。。
