by Mike DaRoncoAfter parting ways with the 1-4-5s, guitarist/ vocalist Sifu Dean got together with Junior Varsity drummer Sifu Matt and bassist Sifu Randy to form The Wontons in 1998. With their self-described sound of all-you-can-eat rock n roll, their added romp of 50s influenced garage and 77 snot-punk debuted on their first single Lets Wok. Released in 1999 on Germanys Screaming Apple Records, The Wontons continued their gimmick of sloppy 60s rock and kung-fu uniforms with the EP Extra Spicy that same year.
