This was the album that established McCaslin as a major folk performer. Her interpretive skills are in evidence on covers of &Let It Be& and Randy Newman's &Living Without You,& but most of the set was devoted to original material, showing her to be an impressive songwriter (if not quite as impressive a singer). The title track and &San Bernardino Waltz& are standouts, the latter being probably her most famous song.
