The newest addition to the Topshelf roster, Brooklyn-by-way-of-Boston's Infinity Girl might not yet be on your radar, but we've got a hunch that'll change after you hear their new album. Harm is rooted in shoegaze — but is less "wall of sound" and more "fuzzy dream pop". For fans of The Pains of Being Pure at Heart, Yuck, The Swirlies or The Pixies.
A dollar from every pre-order of this album will be donated to the Direct Relief Network in Nepal. Here is a quote from the band "The combination of lack of infrastructure and inaccessible terrain made the April 2015 earthquake in Nepal especially devastating. Along with destroyed homes and massive casualties (over 8,000 people have died), a major obstacle to recovery has been a lack of access to medical supplies and facilities for the injured, as well as pregnant women and those with chronic conditions. Direct Relief partners with local NGOs to pinpoint what is most needed in hospitals and they have brought in medicine as well as much needed facilities. It may have left the news cycle, but Nepal is a long way from recovery and for us, being on the other side of the world isn’t an excuse to not help other human beings in need when we have an opportunity to do so. There are so many great organizations on the ground in Nepal, but we chose to help the work of Direct Relief because of their partnerships with local organizations and the clarity and transparency of their work." Our community can do positive things and this is a small way for us to bind together and raise awareness for good causes.
