The Leningrad Philharmonic is featured together with one of the greatest Tchaikovsky conductors of our time, Gennadi Rozhdestvensky in their first visit to the London Proms in 1971. This was a major event at the time with one of Tchaikovsky's best known symphonies in brilliant stereo and 'live'. Also included is the Shostakovich Cello Concerto No. 1 featuring Rostropovich and the Leningrad Philharmonic from the 1961 Edinburgh Festival.
