The Fiery Furnaces' Eleanor Friedberger has announed a new solo album, Personal Record, the follwup to 2011's Last Summer. The album is out June 4 (June 10 in Europe) via Merge.
Personal Record was produced by Eric Broucek and its songs were co-written with musician/novelist Wesley Stace (aka John Wesley Harding).
Friedberger says the lyrics are "more inclusive" and deal with love "but not simply about romantic love," with an emphasis on love of music, "how you feel when you hear someone sing a song for the first time" or "how you can feel close to someone you barely know because you both happen to love the same record."
