Formed by a trio of preliminary Pessimist players, Psychotogen bludgeons the listener with similarly uncompromisingly death metal that stoically refuses to be anything else, recalling the early days of Cannibal Corpse (especially with vocalist Rob's unrestrained hoarse growl), Suffocation, and Believer, with a slightly technical slant that augments but never overtakes the tried and true brutality. A promising debut.
