The signs of decline were all over this 1984 S.O.S. release. Even though they scored two big hits, with the title track checking in at a lofty number six, the exuberance and energy were fading, and rumors about Mary Davis' departure were denied (she left after the next record). The group funk sound was losing its appeal, and the Jam/Lewis combo was beginning to stretch itself too thin.
