Kiddie-pop, New Jack vocals, and hip-hop flavored uptempo tracks were Hi-Five's stock-in-trade as they tried to ride the wave of popularity for youthful groups in the early '90s. Their first album did decently and even got them a hit single, but was far from the level of the champion in this genre, Boyz II Men.
