Facemob are the protégés of Scarface and it shows -- throughout their debut album, The Other Side of the Law, Facemob deal in the hard-edged pseudo-reality tales that have always distinguished the work of the Geto Boys. However, the group has yet to find its own voice. Although the Mob can occasionally craft an insightful, cutting lyric, they tend to rely on both musical and lyrical gangsta clichés, which makes the record a chore to listen to for anyone but aficionados.
