It's rare to hear the focus of an album, the lead singer's voice, change so often and yet remain so much the same - but "rare" is something roots quartet Headwater has never turned away from. Their new release Lay You Down is an 11 song look at love, death and loss in the modern world. The transition between Matt Bryant and Jonas Shandel's voices on Headwater's stunning sophomore record Lay You Down is as seamless as the album's movement between attitude and subject matter.

Complimenting their delicate songwriting with sometimes bold, sometimes subdued, always outstanding performances are Patrick Metzger (upright bass), Tim Tweedale (steel guitar), Tyson Naylor (piano), and Marc L'Esperance (drums) who produced the album as well.
