N17's sophomore album, Defy Everything, is fairly similar to its predecessor, Trust No One -- skilled production by Neil Kernon, broadly generalized album titles, terse song titles, and virtually n intensity. Unfortunately, some of the same problems show up again too -- the band still has trouble finding enough variations on its signature alt-metal/industrial sound to maintain interest over the course of an entire album, and too many songs rely on chants instead of melodies to put their lyrics across, which means they start to blend together after a while. Intensity can only carry a band so far.
