Cool Hand Luke is a Nashville-based Christian band variously classified as alternative rock, progressive pop, indie, and emo and signed to Lujo Records on March 16, 2008.

The Sleeping House, produced by Matt Goldman (Copeland, Underoath, Meg & Dia), is the first album from COOL HAND LUKE since 2004's The Fires of Life. Here's what frontman Mark Nicks has to say about it:

"This record differs from the past few records because it is a little more rocking and aggressive at times and a little darker at times. I wrote a lot more of this record for piano than any previous records, so it has more of that kind of feel to it. New players have obviously brought new things to the band and changed certain elements, but it isn't a huge change in direction overall. This new record was recorded with Matt Goldman and that has changed the sound as well. The guitars and drums sound bigger. We took a more stripped down approach to vocals. We didn't double anything and left it sounding a little more human.

It's the best recording Cool Hand Luke has ever done."
