Doubling on alto and soprano, Eric Marienthal sounds fine on this set, but the repertoire (mostly by band members) is generally less interesting. Joined by three of the members of Chick Corea's Elektric Band (pianist Corea, bassist John Patitucci and drummer Dave Weckl) plus keyboardist Mitchel Forman and a variety of other top studio players, Marienthal shows some individuality in his solos (along with the influence of David Sanborn) but the somewhat commercial music (all clocking in between 4:09 and 5:02) was clearly recorded with potential radio airplay as the chief goal.
