She doesn't write her own stuff, so she may not be the romantic dreamer of &Asking Us to Dance,& but she sure sounds like it. Songs like &Time Passes By,& co-written by husband Jon Vezner, suggest there's more honesty here than image. She can even make the half-baked &From a Distance& convincing.
