This is a 23-track cassette-based album that I recorded during summer of 2009 and released to friends for free on a series of 23 different tapes, each with a different cover and hand-painted cassette tape graphic. I recorded during a particularly dark and fucked up period of my life and was very much into noise and experimentation at the time so this definitely isn’t for everyone.
Each song and their titles are supposed to correlate with different chronological memory or event from my life (the first being my earliest memory, the last being one from around the time I wrote / recorded everything).
I went into recording this with the same idea as I did for Swung from The Branches (buying up a bunch of tapes of a certain length and recording enough seamless music to fill each side, lots of transitions) so this can kind of be seen as the precursor to Swung from The Branches.
Recorded using Ableton 6 on my old 2004 Dell PC, 2 broken tape machines and a single condenser microphone.
