Although it's really just a soundtrack to the DVD that shares its name, the Live with the Candy Licker CD is plenty fun on its own and perfect for taking a Marvin Sease party on the road. His best tales of cheating, redemption, and irresponsible hedonism are all here, many sounding better in this gutsy live show since the sterile production he's often suffered isn't an issue at all. Songs are allowed to stretch out longer than usual and there's also Sease's playful -- sometimes naughty -- interaction with the Alabama audience, which is having one heck of a party. Pick the DVD up if you want the full experience, but even in its audio-only version, Live with the Candy Licker is one of the sexy soul man's most satisfying releases.
