Zee Avi is a Malaysian singer/songwriter, guitarist, ukulele player and visual artist. She was the winner of the International Youth Icon Award in 2011 in her birth home Sarawak, which lead to inspirational speaking engagements to young people around the world. Now residing in the United States, she has lived and sold albums all over the world, has charted on several of the Billboard charts worldwide as well as having millions of YouTube views .
Zee's new release is a children's cover album called Nightlight which harkens back to her simple yet powerful roots. The production is all about the subtle hooks and Zee's vocals. This album includes covers of classic songs, such as Dream A Little Dream by Louis Armstrong, and The Circle Game by Joni Mitchell, as well as an infectious, smile-inducing version of Bobby McFerrin's Don't Worry, Be Happy. Zee puts her own unique twist on each song, bringing new life to the classics. The album also features a hypnotic Malay lullaby medley that will send children to sleep with sweet dreams.
