Live is releasing its first studio album in eight years. "The Turn" is due out Oct. 28 by Think Loud Recordings. This marks the band's ninth studio album and the group enlisted the help of their early producer Jerry Harrison to co-produce the album. In the studio, the quartet--original members Chad Taylor (Guitar & Backing Vocals), Patrick Dahlheimer (Bass and Percussion), Chad Gracey (Drums and Percussion), who are joined by Chris Shinn (Lead Vocals & Guitar)--have re-invigorated its sound with effusive energy and massive hooks.

The album -- the first release with Live's new lead singer Chris Shinn -- will feature 11 new tracks produced by Jerry Harrison and mixed by Tom Lord-Alge.

According to a news release, Live is teaming up with PledgeMusic to give fans a behind-the-scenes look at the new album. Every pre-ordered album includes access to recording sessions, which Live did in its new state-of-the-art studio in downtown York.

Live is planning a world tour after releasing "The Turn."

Chad Taylor, Patrick Dahlheimer, Chad Gracey and Ed Kowalczyk grew up in York and formed Live in the 1980s. Through the 1990s, Live soared to fame, as a string of their albums went platinum and they embarked on world tours.

Kowalczyk left the group in 2009 to pursue a solo career. In recent years, Taylor, Dahlheimer and Gracey focused on converting a historic York building into a studio and fiber-optic company. The band introduced its new lead singer, Chris Shinn, in March 2012.
