We’re thrilled to announce details of Cherry Ghost’s third album ‘Herd Runners’ which will be released on Heavenly Recordings on 12th May (signed copies available for preorder via the Heavenly emporium HERE).
The record follows up 2007’s ‘Thirst For Romance’ and 2010’s ‘Beneath This Burning Shoreline’, which have since seen Simon Aldred become a songwriter-for-hire, nurturing upcoming British talent including Sam Smith and Kwabs, as well as release a set of critically lauded post-midnight electronic love songs under the guise of Out Cold.
Recorded in Sheffield with long-term Richard Hawley collaborator Colin Elliot and mixed in Bath with Dan Austin, Herd Runners is ten perfectly crafted tales of heartbreak and hope — shifting from soaring, symphonic pop (‘Clear Skies Ever Closer’) to melancholic lock-in blues (‘Drinking for Two’) via an almost uncompromisingly hopeful rhythmic shuffle (‘The World Could Turn’).
