The brilliant album that got everything started. Heads turned, people snapped to attention (women especially), and the &sweet& soul fraternity was turned on its head when this five-member group featuring the sugary, sweeping falsetto of Russell Tompkins, Jr. hit the scene with such singles as &Betcha by Golly Wow,& &People Make the World Go Round,& and &Stop, Look and Listen to Your Heart.& His delivery, shimmering style, and brilliant pacing and control temporarily rendered almost every other &sweet& soul vocalist and group speechless; pretty soon, the Delfonics, Blue Magic, Moments, and others would fight back, but in 1972, everyone was playing catchup to The Stylistics.
