Robert Rich & Lisa Sangita Moskow created Yearning as an "evolution of the traditional approach to alop," the introduction and slowest part of the Indian raga. It explores the intensity of meditative electro-acoustic ambience. Indeed, it goes beyond electro-acoustic to psychoactive. Rich, one of the finest sound designers ever, has crafted these atmospheres with strong overtone qualities. The organic textures wend their way into the synapses of the brain and encourage the serotonin with warmth, love, and nurturing. Deep listeners will feel the pull of the graceful melodies as Rich and Moskow weave a thoughtful and evocative soundworld. Like most of Rich's work, this CD is relatively peerless. It stands with the music of Steve Roach and David Parsons as unique.
