Sezen Aksu, in her album "Öptüm" (Kisses) released in late May of 2011, greeted her audience with "maybe the summer passes away better than you'd expected…" message. She defined the album as: "These are songs of a joyful and delicious period of my life that I've realised the meaning of it better."

She and her son Mithat Can Ozer co-produced the album where as musician Aykut Gürel executed the supervision. The new songs in the album were giving the taste of some of her former songs that have become classics. Nevertheless this sense of nostalgia was successfully accompanied with new and contemporary arrangements.
