"After many months of writing, rehearsing and recording, we are proud to have completed our eighth full length release that we've named "Aphotic". One goal in Novembers Doom has been to never repeat ourselves, to constantly challenge our writing abilities, to deliver something new each and every time, while maintaining what wefeelisoursignaturesound.Wefeelwe'venotonlyaccomplishedt atwith"Aphotic", but have pushed our creativity into new musical territory while making what is quite possibly the most unique Novembers Doom release yet. Themed in darkness and melancholic madness, this release is a journey from start to finish, reminiscent of our early doom roots, and bringing something brand new to the listener. Helping us along the way, to create the exact vision we had, we called upon a few friends to lend their talents. The amazing and beautiful Anneke Van Giersbergen (Agua De Annique, The Gathering) performs on "What Could Have Been", delivering a chilling and haunting vocal, which is guaranteed to captivate. World renowned violinist Rachel Barton Pine (Earthen Grave) lends her talents on both "What Could Have Been" as well as "The Dark Host", adding an element of sorrow and beauty we've not used before. Finally, the man behind the mixing board Dan Swano (Nightingale, Edge of Sanity, Bloodbath) adds his vocal touch to "Of Age and Origin", giving us a very rare appearance of his mighty growl!
