本名Kieran Hebden的英倫電音奇才Four Tet，在2010年叫好又叫座的《There Is Love In You》之後動態如何，樂迷都很關切。尤其在後浪輩出的電子樂界，Four Tet出道了十多年仍穩穩屹立於第一線，每次發表新作都具指標意義。
過去兩年Four Tet回歸DJ的身分，巡迴世界打碟，也在Fabric廠下出版DJ混音作品《FabricLive.59》。更讓人津津樂道的是在自己主理的廠牌Text推出一系列12吋黑膠單曲，包括與另外兩名英國天才Thom Yorke、Burial合作的雙面單曲〈Ego〉與〈Mirror〉，及與Caribou一人一面的〈Pinnacles〉與〈Ye Ye〉，其餘多數仍為Four Tet的個人創作。
《Pink》收錄的八曲，其中有六首是Four Tet這兩年的12吋單曲，唯有〈Lion〉與〈Peace For Earth〉是未問世的曲目。雖然《Pink》並非全新的錄音室專輯，整張聽下來仍能聽出清楚的脈——Four Tet將這幾年在DJ現場感受到的能量貫注至曲子的結構，也持續在極微電子與即興爵士這兩個板塊間搭上連通的橋。
〈Locked〉以平緩的節奏起頭，隨後是多重旋律線在不同的聲部串聯。中段三首五分多鐘的曲子可視為開頭與結尾那五首八分鐘長曲之間的過渡：〈Jupiters〉由合成器開場，中間忽然帶入鼓聲；〈Ocoras〉整首都以重型貝斯鋪底，〈128 Harps〉清脆的音色則似回到《Rounds》美妙的時期。
自己最愛後頭接連三曲：由變聲器處理的「I remember how you walked away.」貫穿整首〈Pyramid〉，爽勁的4/4拍如Pantha du Prince。〈Peace For Earth〉是太精良的聲景空間探索，〈Pinnacles〉則憶起去年Fuji Rock的午夜DJ Set。
The follow-up to 2010's There Is Love In You is called Pink, and the eight-track album will be released digitally via Hebden's Text label on August 20. A CD release is to follow in Japan, through the label Hostess Entertainment on August 22. That's the artwork, above.
Pink collects a number of the vinyl-only singles that Hebden has been releasing over the last year, the majority of which are over eight minutes long apiece.
