We have been bemoaning the lack of new Triphop tunes lately. Our bemoaning has been rewarded with a track from one of our favorite recent Triphop artists. Elsiane is the Montreal duo of classically trained Peruvian singer/songwriter Elsieanne Caplette and drummer Stephane Sotto. Their 2008 debut record, Hybrid, featured the glorious track Vaporous as well as standouts like Across The Stream and Mend (To Fix, to Repair). Elsiane was selected to support Delerium‘s 2008 North American Tour.
We haven’t heard from Elsiane since then, so we are delighted to hear the annoucement of their new record and 2 live dates (4/18 in Montreal and 4/21 in Quebec). Mechanics of Emotion will be released April 10. The first single is Underhelped.
